What’s In My Purse

Written by , Posted in Beauty

So…. I somehow completely forgot to make a post about my most recent video, and only posted it to YouTube! My deepest apologies to those who follow my videos on my website, I owe you guys! School is beyond crazy right now as I’m ending my second year at University, so unfortunately YouTube has taken kind of an attention hit lately as school has to be priority (which is so wrong). But nonetheless, I will still have a video up tomorrow for my weekly Sunday video, and again I’m sorry this was delayed! You can always subscribe to my YouTube channel for instant updates on when I upload (just in case this happens again… which I promise it wont!). I’ve gotten a lot of requests to do a “What’s in My Purse” themed video, and I thought it would be more real if I literally just filmed exactly what was in my purse. Girls seem to clean up their bags to a totally unrealistic state, to the point where we all know they do not keep their purses that neat. Because seriously, name one girl who has an insanely clean purse. So enjoy my purse contents!

I Do My Boyfriend’s Makeup!

Written by , Posted in Beauty

First of all, I think we all need to give Sebastian a round of an applause for being such a good sport and letting me abuse his face with my favourite makeup products. Thanks baby you’re the best (for real). This video has been highly requested and I was so excited to film it once I convinced the bf to star in it. I also just wanted to mention that I am NOT a beauty guru and therefore am a total makeup amateur and have no idea what I’m doing. The fact that his smokey eye looked somewhat smokey is a miracle (usually it looks like a black eye after getting socked in the face). So who’s prettier after this transformation? LOL. With cheekbones and eyebrows like Baz I honestly think he takes the cake.

Hair Care Routine + Tips For Growing Your Hair!

Written by , Posted in Beauty

Growing your hair is one of those processes that seems like it’s never ending… Constantly waiting for those rapunzel locks to magically appear. In Grade 8 or 9 I thought it would be “cool” to chop off the long healthy locks that I sported for a horrendous mid-length short hairdo. Six years later and I’m still kicking myself for that decision. We all go through those urges to make a drastic change and go for something edgy and short, but in exchange, there’s the process of years and years of waiting for those long waves to return. My problem, was when I cut my hair short, I no longer had the option of wearing it wavy and natural because it resembled more of a fro. I was then forced to style my hair almost every day for the entire length of high school, leading to obviously damaged and dry hair. In grade 12 I took it upon myself to boycott all things heat and damaging to my struggling locks, and began my research for magical hair growth tips and tricks. Little did I know, there’s no magical equation to repairing and growing your hair, so I was left with sensible and small steps towards a new head of healthy hair. So here they are!

October Favourites!

Written by , Posted in Beauty

I recently asked my viewers what videos they wanted to see, and after a lookbook, October favourites was the next most requested video! And yes, I realize that I am super sketchy with posting consistent monthly favourites videos, but I’m going to try to be better about this starting now! It actually worked out that when I came home from school for the weekend I conveniently brought all my current favourite products and clothes so it was super easy to make a little list of favourites!

Products Mentioned:
Rimmel London Soft Kohl Eye Liner Pencil 071 Pure White
Revlon Brow Fantasy in Dark Blonde
Lycra Tights
Knit Turband
Infinity Scarf
Diana F+ Lomography Camera
K-OS – “The Rain”

July Favourites!

Written by , Posted in Beauty

These are some of my favourite brands/products that I’ve been really into lately! This is my first ‘favourites video’, so go easy on me hahah…. and I also got a new camcorder! I’m not completely satisfied with the quality of it, especially for the buck I paid for it. So my videos may be jumping around in quality for the next few vids until I get the hang of it (or a new one). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! ALSO, in the video there’s a little gear button on the bottom right. Click that bad boy and change the resolution to 720p for much better quality.

Again, you can check out my YouTube channel (which is growing so much quicker than I ever would have thought.. THANKYOU!!) here !

Products Mentioned:

Revlon Photoready 003 Medium Beige
Monistat Primer
Sephora Super Nourishing Lip Balm
Sensuna Hand Cream
OPI – Hey! Get in Lime!

Tutorial: No Heat Beachy Waves/Curls Overnight (V.2)

Written by , Posted in Beauty

After receiving lots of feedback on the first version of the no heat curls tutorial, I decided to make a new one. I swear this one is much easier, and I found that it resulted in way better hair! (The days that the handband tutorial didn’t work, I found myself stuck with kinked up hair all day….) I promise that won’t happen with this one. Anyways, this method is much more comfortable and produces some really cute beachy waves/curls (I ended up with both)! So give this one a try, and let me know how it works for you! There was no heat, extensions or modifications done to my hair for these pictures – promisepromise.

No Water Nail Marbling

Written by , Posted in Beauty

If you’ve tried water marbling for your nails you’ll definitely love this tutorial! It’s about 1000 times easier with no mess or clean up, and the best part: no water! I will admit that my nails turned out pretty shabby cause I was scared the polish would dry before I could swirl it around (or at least that’s my best attempt at an excuse for why I’m a terrible nail painter). But my actual swirls themselves turned out awesome! So give this fun nail tutorial a try and let me know how yours turn out!

Here’s the tutorial:

And here’s a better pic of how mine turned out!

Scarf Turband

Written by , Posted in Beauty

I bought a great turband from American Apparel for $18 and although it’s a great accessory, my wallet really can’t handle more than a few. So this is the cheap and cute way to make your own with endless options of colour/pattern!

I paid about $3 for this scarf from Value Village!

Begin by laying the scarf on a flat surface and folding it in half to make a triangle.

Fold the triangle in towards the bigger edge to make a thin band.

Place the middle of the scarf band at the back of your head and bring it to the front. Wrap the ends around each other once, and return the ends of the scarf to the back.

Tie a knot with the loose ends.

Tuck the ends into the band to hide the rest of the scarf.

And enjoy!

Dying For Ombre

Written by , Posted in Beauty

I’m sure you’ve heard of this growing fad, ombre dyed hair is huge right now amongst basically 95% of the tumblr community (haha, my tumblr is likewolvesss.tumblr.com!, although I am sadly part of the 5% without ombre hair). Okay, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but nevertheless ombre hair is a trend that a surprising amount of girls seem to be interested in.

I would kill for her hair (this image is viral on tumblr, the internet and Lookbook but I couldn’t find her LB profile so I couldn’t give credit!). Triple threat hair right there; length, waves and ombre (plus she’s gorgeous). What more could a girl want? I’ve been obsessing over the idea of doing this myself, and in a couple of weeks I’m bound to give in. Check back in a few weeks for new and improved ombre hair!

Black Tipped

Written by , Posted in Beauty

I went with a friend a couple weeks ago for some quality girl talk and much needed nail touchups. This was the outcome! Thanks to “Nancy” (most likely not her real name..) at Time for Nails & Spa for the great job, I love them!
